July 29, 2023Arrived on a Saturday. FBO lent me a courtesy car over the weekend until I could arrange for a rental car on Monday from E&E Auto - they will deliver the car to the airport for a fee. The cars rent out fast - make your reservation at least 2 weeks ahead of time. Be sure to visit the Tillamook Air Museum across the field. The former blimp hangar is the world’s largest free-standing wooden structure (metal was scarce during WWI when it was built). Also visit the Tillamook Creamery.

June 28, 2021Very nice small airport; it appeared most of the parking spots had ropes for tie-downs and a rack of chocks. The FBO offers two Crown Victoria courtesy cars to select from; the one I used even had air conditioning. There is also a campsite available on site for fifteen dollars per night. The airport is roughly five minutes from Tillamook, though it is not close enough to walk. In town, you'll find a Safeway and Fred Meyer if you require camping gear. Tillamook is an excellent place to grab a meal if your plan was to fly to Nehalem or Pacific City before spending time at the beach; both of those airports require about a ten to fifteen minute walk to reach the sand. Please ensure you complete your takeoff and landing calculations if you intend to stop at Nehalem or Pacific City, as those runways are short and have obstructions.
