I flew into SPF to visit some friends in my C182 from Colorado. Absolutely professional service, free tie downs, and reasonable fuel. I took my friend's young sons up for their first small airplane ride and they hosted us gratefully while we shuffled the boys in and out of the plane. I had a pitot tube blockage on departure and Milt in MX took the time to remove the pitot tube, clean the very stuck blockage, and did a very thorough job getting me back in the air in 2 hours. Great FBO!

Eagle Aviation is top notch. Friendly and attentive service. The airport is getting a new FBO building along with other facility improvements.

We were glad that we picked Spearfish as a base for our Black Hills trip. Just like others have commented, staff (Matt for us) were eager to please, with a red carpet for us to walk off to the rental car by the aircraft. Other notes: (1) The airport sits in a valley with different weather from KRAP or KRCA, less windy, (2) with RNAV 13, the descent from 10000 can be challenging (we were in a Mooney). If possible cancel IFR to start visual descent, (3) prepare to use phone vs RCO for clearance.

I called ahead for a rental car and I was parked right next to it when I arrived. The staff were polite and helpful. You can tell that their customers are important to them. I stayed at the Best Western which is recommended.
