Stopped to pick up friend who dropped a car off at hospital. Was not greeted by anyone tell engine off and getting out of plane. No idea that I would be charged for a ramp fee when no one was even around. As I walked out of lobby the attendant said I need to pay or get fuel. I was shocked because I was only there for 10 minutes. So I had to pay for 13 gallons for my 182 when I didn't need any fuel. This is not Aspen or Vail. It's Rifle. Never will I stop there again.

Like other reviewers said, be very cautious. Dropped off safety pilot for free, when we picked him back up a few days later, we were charged $450 for 35mins stop - KingAir 90. Waiving this with top off was denied because I could only fit 90gal not the required 100. Was told if you park further west on county ramp and exit through the metal gate without entering FBO, there is no fee. Asked how can I then return the rental car when the counter is in FBO? No answer to this except you have to pay.

Be VERY cautious of Atlantic Aviation in Rifle, CO (KRIL). Wife and I flew our Meridian on a longer cross country today but decided to use the restroom here and possibly grab some lunch. We were there for about 20 mins before we found out we had to make an unplanned and unexpected return back home. In total, we were parked on their ramp for about 45 mins to 60 mins… this included preflight and filing IFR time. No fuel as we were headed back to our home airport. I was shocked when I was charged $322.00. This, by the way, included a “landing fee discount.” What makes up the $322? Well, they charge a $265.00 facilities use fee and some other fees. It was extravagant. And all we did was use the bathroom. I spoke to their desk manager who escalated to the GM. Essentially, there was no reprieve other than to knock off about $50 from the total bill. This was the most expensive bathroom my wife and I have ever used in our lives. Be forewarned.
