This was intended to be a fuel stop along the route, but the weather had other ideas. After landing, a strong storm moved in and kept us grounded. Flight Services informed me that weather ahead was severe. We remained on the ground for four days until conditions improved. Alexa, the staff member at the FBO, was a fantastic host. She suggested a hotel and some activities for us while we waited for the severe weather to pass. I strongly endorse this location as a stopover. Plus, the fuel costs are unbeatable.

Easy in and out, clean facilities, and I am not sure where cheaper fuel is within a few states! If you are flying IFR you will have to get your clearance by phone, or Longview Approach will assist you once airborne. There is no local Clearance Delivery available on the ground. That would be a nice value add.

The best fuel price in the region and clean facilities. RWY 30/12 is a little rough compared to the main runway 35/17 but don't be afraid to use it.

There are two courtesy cars now. Always in good working order. Not top class or anything. You can call ahead a couple days in advance to set reservations on the cars otherwise they are first come first serve. There’s not much in town but there are a few good restaurants. Tia Jaunita’s is a good go to!
