Before choosing Ascension, I called ahead to see what the fees would be. Sometimes fees are pretty crazy at busier, corporate airports. Was told that landing fees for my plane, M500, would be waived with a 30 gallon fuel purchase. I used CAA, which made the fuel cost reasonable. Impressive lobby, staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this FBO.

This is *not* Hawthorne. Those were good people. Never a ramp fee for locally based pilots. Support for events. They were part of the GA community. Recently taxied up to their empty ramp to drop off my GM. Six line people swarmed my aircraft like a carjacking. Cones, chocks, and one guy to stand in front of the plane to make sure ramp fee paid. Said, "go pay your ramp fee inside." Ok, fine. $120 for a piston single? Definitely not Hawthorne any more. Never again.

New name - Ascension

Just called to inquire about flying in to drop off one passenger in a single engine Cessna and was informed that would cost $130 if no fuel was purchased. We have utilized this facility multiple times previously in the corporate jet I fly and always experienced good service, but I was surprised to learn they would levy such a charge for a drop off in a small single engine aircraft.

This FBO is now called Ascension -- changed from Hawthorne last week (sold to private equity). Brand new sign and everything. Friendly crew and nice facilities.
