Excellent facility. The team at SpanaFlight is consistently ready to assist. There is a gate, but the access code is public knowledge. Just ask anyone present at any time and they will provide it. There is a bar available, and naturally, it requires 21+. Additionally, a Chipotle and a Denny's are located across the road. Tie-down fees are inexpensive, so that is not a concern.

Flew a PC-12 into Thun Field (KPLU) on a Friday afternoon. After several telephone conversations, I arrived and the FBO was empty. I was expecting two rental cars, but, since the FBO was closed, no rental cars were available. There are locks on the gates (as there should be) but once you exit the controlled area, you can't get back in to your aircraft, because the gate code isn't published anywhere. Most uncontrolled airfields have a sign indicating the code on the inside of the gate.
