Airport had a somewhat confusing layout with the closed taxiways, bad runways, and hard to see grass. Recommend using 13/31 or 17/35. The FBO was nice and there was a fueler out right away to help us get tied down. If you need a ride into anywhere, contact Pam (956)-371-9119. She is the most helpful person I have meet in forever! Stopped at the store to let us run and grab groceries, and helped us get checked into our room and see part of the Padre. All for $30.

I've been using Southwind PIL on annual trips to SPI for years. Danny has gone above and beyond every year. Both Danny and Rodney are very friendly and take great care of our aircraft for our week long stay. Hangar space is secure, clean and dry. Nice facilities inside the FBO. I always look forward to coming back. Highly recommend.

No crew car, plan for a twenty-dollar Uber ride or possibly taxi. It’s not attended inside all the time so the same guy who runs the fuel truck works at the desk, prepare for a wait if you’re waiting on him to come to the desk (but he was very nice). Brownie points for the cool parrot they keep there
