Had a fine lunch at KOYM today only to drain my battery during a normal start-up procedure. Called Vince, airport manager, who came out on a Saturday afternoon and charged my battery and closed up my battery box after a successful start. Thanks so much Vince, God works in not so mysterious ways, just through excellent servants.

Be aware if you get stuck at the airport overnight there are 3 hotels close by. There is no transportation available (no taxi or Uber). One mechanic is available and he is great. The airport FBO is closed on weekends but the restaurant is open. The nearest commercial airline airport is Bradford, which is 1 hour away. So if you are stuck on a weekend you might get a ride to the hotel from a based pilot or a restaurant employee.

Flew in today for fuel and lunch. The airport is beautifully manicured and Vincent immediately came to help us with fueling. The lounge is brand new and has an excellent pilot’s lounge with all needed amenities. The restaurant is upstairs and serves good and reliable food, which makes St. Marys the ideal stop on long cross country flights or just for the perfect $100 burger. We will return!
