Found ourselves in the midst of “Bonanzas to Oshkosh” on departure which was fun.

While they didn’t have a car available (not provided by city) they were very helpful in directing me to local companies to help with a set of wheels. Nice little airport to fly into if coming from the north as you fly over some rolling hills.

July 28, 2021 Departed Appleton to Winona, MN to then drive to Nelson, WI to visit friends. This FBO is a true classic, time has stood still, a reminder of what flying was like. The service was exceptional and very accommodating. We were put in their main hangar due to expected thunderstorms that evening. Definitely a place I would like to visit again.

Flew into Winona today, Holiday weekend. Got a flat tire and was in trouble of being stuck. George (goes by Krazy) shows up and takes care of us. Gets his mechanic out and changed tire and in meantime gives us his car to go have lunch. Best part was sitting around with him and shooting the breeze. Bad situation turned into an enjoyable day. Will be back!
