Mineral Wells Regional Airport KMWL Pilot Reviews

Be careful flying in. Fuel truck pulled right in front of us as we were landing. When confronted, he replied, "I don't care." TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE.

Stopped here for a two night visit with family and could not have had a better experience. This might be one of the friendliest airports in the country. The staff was welcoming and helpful from the beginning. If you need hangar space, just make sure to call ahead. The FBO was great, and my 6-year-olds had a blast playing with the old airport beacon light inside. Small touches like that made the stop even more memorable. Highly recommend landing here if you’re looking for a pilot-friendly place to stop.

We had a last-minute weather divert and came into Mineral Wells just as the FBO was closing. They were tremendously helpful getting us a car and getting the aircraft situated while we took care of our kids and found a place to stay. No facilities, great runway, excellent place to stop.

I have been flying in to Mineral Wells often since a friend moved there a couple of years ago. Super friendly and accommodating staff, quick service, and good fuel prices. Home of major autopilot manufacturing. There are some good restaurants and some very interesting places to see there including the Baker Hotel (in restoration), the Vietnam War Museum, Fort Wolters site, Crazy Water Hotel, “Famous Water” Well, etc... The town has a very rich history worth looking into online. Unfortunately, many of the grand old places of its glory days are no longer standing, but a revival is going on in preservation and restorations.
