Mid Island Air Service KHWV Pilot Reviews

September 13, 2025Stopped at KHWV for fuel and was told the landing fee is waived by the worker. A few weeks later Vector Planepass sent me an invoice for $7.00. Not a large fee but it is annoying. I think this is the system that uses your ADSB to bill you.

August 21, 2025Looking for Mid Air Service SS fuel is a bit difficult to find. From Runway 15, take taxiway D. Keep going straight. It seems like a taxiway to nowhere! Pumps are poorly marked for visibility. They are 2 large boxes about 4 feet high. Covered with a waterproof grey cloth. They have zippers so that they can be completely sealed for bad weather. Green covered credit card device is between covered pumps. The one on the right is for GA.

December 17, 2022We stopped on a Sunday. The facility was like a ghost town. The automated pumps were non-functional. We needed to go to the other FBO for self service. I had to use a different credit card because of a prior failed purchase. There were no restrooms accessible. I would not suggest this location for anybody.

July 15, 2022Self service fuel location is at a separate location from the Mid Island hangar. Taxiway F from taxiway L will lead you west to a lollipop where the pump is. On Google maps, it is where the NAASCO tag is on the airfield. No bathroom or hand washing station nearby. The “Fill up” option is restricted to a maximum of $250.
