Great place for inexpensive fuel but terrible control tower management. The worst tower controller I have ever encountered. On 5/23/25 the tower controller permitted six airplanes in the pattern to keep doing touch and gos while five airplanes waited at the end of the runway for over 20 minutes to depart in the hot Texas heat. Avoid this airport and head to Temple (TPL) for affordable fuel and welcoming staff.

Fuel is self service, best prices in the area. Stayed for a few nights.

Excellent experience today. The line man was very helpful ( sorry don't remember his name) and took care of all my needs in a timely fashion.

Friendly tower in the morning. Mr. grumpy guy late afternoon. This was the only cross country stop in several where the manager made me fold my wings (Stemme S12 motor glider). I should have gone next door to Cutter Aviations huge ramp. Self serve fuel prices were good and late afternoon managers were great.

Nice airport with a friendly tower. Fuel was low priced at the self serve. Very busy with training located on the field.

First time at KGTU. Landed on a Friday after they were closed and got the last tie down. I stayed for a week. When I left Friday morning there were only a few planes in tie down area. Super nice place and people. Only $5/ night with first night free and one more free if you buy gas at self service pump. (They don’t have a fuel truck.). I didn’t need to use the curtesy car but apparently one I’d available. I will be back.
