Stopped there with a medium Helicopter on my way south. Long turnaround time, if you are in a rush, there are better options available. Restaurant on site though.

I’m blown away! Flying a Cessna 150 from Atlanta (my last meal was at 10) to Philly, and at one previous fuel stop had issues with the starter. Managed to get it (hand propped it) to start but knew I need a mechanic to repair it. I figured to fly here and come see Tim, the head of the maintenance department. Tim worked tirelessly for an hour, and fixed my starter. I expected a big bill, but Tim refused to get paid. If that doesn’t blow your mind, I asked him where I can get some food as it’s close to 7pm and I’m kinda hungry at this point. He said there’s a resturant at the airport and that I can get a ride with Nancy. But if that’s not open, he’d take me out. At this point I’m going nuts. Fortunately, the resturant was still open. Got a ride with Nancy, while Tim had the fueling guy top me off. The kind young lady who’s the chef, Susan, prepared me the most delicious salad and gave me some drinks. Really great stop. They have jet A and av gas trucks. Helpful people on our unexpected stop for the night and were able to get us into a hangar. Plus a restaurant right on the field!

Flew in to drop our boys off at The Scout Reserve-Summit Bechtel. Superb airport for that purpose. Tommy at the FBO had my rental car keys ready and drove me to get the car. It was after hours for Hertz, but Kathleen went well out of her way to meet our limited schedule. She deserves to be CEO. The next day Marcus fueled us up for the flight home and was as pleasant as Tommy the night before. Wish all FBO’s had people like Tommy and Marcus.
