Amazing airport and community! Apt Mgr Mike called to inform me I had a low tire. By the time I arrived he had reinflated it and confirmed the leak. Within thirty minutes, he connected me with the 8D4 community. One person had a tube, others showed up with tools, and still others including an IA came over to assist. All while Young Eagles and AOPA Rusty Pilot seminar were taking place. Oh, and to make things even better, they feature a beautiful runway, brand new ramp and tie downs, three crew cars, and very fair 100LL prices!

Huge shout out to Marty and the City of Sparta for a great experience! As a transient GA pilot, my main requirements for an airport/FBO are simple: 24hr fuel, a restroom I can access, and a courtesy car. Spart has all 3. I did NOT know that the AWOS takes 2 clicks to activate- heads up there. I was able to get gas very easily- the credit card terminal is probably the best/easiest I‘ve come across. The fuel hose retractor was inop, but apparently that‘s a known issue and they‘re working on replacing it. There aren’t many tie down spots, and some of them are awfully close to the fuel pump. Use caution in this area, and make sure to bring your own ropes/tiedowns. The door code is listed in the Chart Supplement- that is a GREAT idea that I don’t see at many other airports. I had some unexpected weather delays, and Marty was great in helping me get the courtesy car sorted out, telling me the best places to stay, etc. Very friendly, very helpful. I’ll definitely plan on returning
