August 19, 2025Landed at 18A en route to Oshkosh for fuel and a quick stop. Runway had more weeds than pavement. Self-serve pump, no humans in sight. Inside: a snack table, honesty jar (“$1—God’s Watching”), and a bathroom with toilet paper so soft I almost skipped Oshkosh. Fueled up, launched… and then the NOTAM dropped: arrivals closed. Dream died over Wisconsin. No Oshkosh, but 18A? Pure magic. Would stop again. Might never leave.
