Forgot to add,..., Fuel pump is only available during business hours. There is nowhere to use a credit card outside at the pump.

No courtesy car was available.

At 4:45 PM on February 27, 2025 in an A36 Bonanza after flying 500 miles to get my passenger to Fremont, Ohio on a hiring mission. Having phoned ahead of time Rex stayed past closing time in order to ensure that I would have fuel service and that my plane would not be hailed on as I had to go around thunderstorms which now pursued me. Not only did Rex ensure my passenger had a car, but continued his excellent after our service so that I might have something to eat & warm stay! Stand tall, Rex!

Ok, so Rex — who is awesome — saved my bacon. During the summer of 2022, when AvGas has been scarcer than ever, and many airports who advertised gas actually DIDN’T HAVE ANY (and no NOTAMs to warn pilots), I stopped at three airports looking for fuel. And it was after hours, and I had about an hour left of fuel, and I called around to any nearby airport, and no one answered…except Rex. He timed his arrival at the airport to meet me when I landed, and hooked me up. Oh, and if you’re ever looking for a place to crash after a fuel stop, Rex has a B&B cabin off the end of the airport. We plan on stopping bay and doing just that. Thanks Rex, for being a mensch, and for taking care of me. -Mike
